Fresher interview prep
HR interview questions for freshers.
These HR-round questions are asked to freshers in almost every role, and also to candidates applying for HR jobs. Answers should be honest, specific and short.
1. Tell me about yourself.
How to answer: Spend under two minutes: education, one or two relevant projects or internships, and why you want this role.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
How to answer: Back each strength with an example. Pick a real weakness and say what you are doing to improve it.
3. Why should we hire you?
How to answer: Match two or three of your skills to the job description and show eagerness to learn.
4. Where do you see yourself in five years?
How to answer: Show growth inside the field, such as taking on more responsibility, without naming a specific title you can't justify.
5. Describe a time you worked in a team and faced a conflict.
How to answer: Use STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result. Focus on what you did to resolve it.
6. Are you willing to relocate or work in shifts?
How to answer: Answer honestly. If you have limits, state them politely and show flexibility where you can.
7. What do you know about our company?
How to answer: Mention its products, customers or a recent update from its website, and connect it to your interest.
8. Do you have any questions for us?
How to answer: Always ask one or two, for example about training for new joiners or what success looks like in the first six months.
